I made my warrior a female because we CAN`T get a beer belly on the male warrior, which I would have preferred (the more barreled looks of the FoW armor doesn´t count, as the legs are just silly) No pepsodent-smile warriors for me, make ´em burlier and hairier. We can´t even get the stylish moustache that Little Thom has

no...No!.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Dangit. I was hoping to get some more good ranger armor Why do all rangers have to have a bloody mud flap. It wouldn't be as bad if they didn't make them transmogrify when you /sit. I don't like that I have to make most my characters female just because if I went through the entire game looking at some of that male armor I'd prolly puke all over my keyboard twice daily. I wanted to make a male ritualist but their faces/hair makes em look like goons, and if I ever did decide to make an assasin I'd have to choose between Mr. Mcslanty and the anorexic preteen.

Some of the armor looks great, can't wait to see all the sets for the 8 classes.

I'd say the warrior is supposed to look like a cobra.

But in fact he looks like a mushroom with downs syndrome.

The other armors were OK, but I'm getting the feeling they've replaced lead graphics designer, and that the new guy isn't anywhere near as talented as the old guy. Just a feeling I get.

Oh please don't let that be true. Much of the previous armor designs left a lot to be desired. Why do so many armor have to have the hand towel hanging in front? It looks like an undone diaper.

Wait.. is it just me.. or does that male Necro have a lot of female facial characteristics.. The armor looks good, but what's with that hair/face?!?

Oh so true!
Hope the other new warrior armor sets are a lot better than this.

I thought the Warrior looked pretty cool... all look cool, in fact, although I can see the complaint about Ranger armor looking similar.

I wanted a total new look for the armor, and most of them: Warrior, Monk, Mesmer, Necro delivered.

Nice to see Ele has actually gotten skimpier (although I do like it, it's pretty similar to the old armor).

The only armor that looks really different is the warrior. The others have a very close resemblance to what they have now. So much for that asian inspired look.

Oh come on. The Necro has a very unique look, with the Japanese style demon faces.

Monk looks different enough for me.

Mesmer looks nice, although I concede it's still a mesmer.

Ranger and Ele are the least changed, but the turtle shell bra is a nice touch!

I guess the challenge was to make Armor that was still recognizeable by class, but give it a slightly different look. Some are better at it than others...

I do find it ironic that the most unique looking armor (Warriors) is getting the most hate.

I respectfully disagree.

Warrior looks nasty and not in a good way either. Weird helmet and weird face in the screenshot.

Heh, I kinda like the warrior. I was hoping for more of a Samurai type mask, you know the kind with the horn-like things swooping out of the top of the helmet and the face is grinning evily.

I don't care for the monks armor. Heck, I think all the monks armors look the same with no noticable differences.

I like the over all look of the warrior, it’s just the helmet. Is it me or does it he look like a pissed off mushroom. The weapons look good to but the on the Dragon Fangs 7-17 Damage, it’s like taking a butter knife to go chop wood.

You guys should probably wait till it's actually released before you spout the 'it doesn't have asian influence' crap as magazine articles say 6 or 7 new armors for each class, you've only seen 1 or 2 so far.

I might get that for my warrior just because noone likes it. Could be an edge in combat... kill em while they're badmouthing your armor...

March 6, 2006 - Among the many new features that the Factions stand alone addition will bring to the Guild Wars franchise are two completely new character types: the Assassin and Ritualist. Both of these characters should provide new ways for old players to experience the game and more choice for those that have never stepped into ArenaNet's fantasy universe.

This morning, ArenaNet has provided us with our first look at these two new classes along with a look at some of the new armor and style that players will see in armor for the older classes like the Warrior and Mesmer. As you can see, much of what's new in Factions is heavily inspired by Asian culture and art.

So take a look through, check out the characters and glean what you can from the backgrounds and expect to see more about Guild Wars Factions hit the site later this week!

Looks pretty neat can't wait till we get to see what new pets we get.

mesmer and ele armors are really nice
i like necro armor - i guess femaler version of new necro armor looks just as good

but preorder items are CRAP - total crap - i dont want to discuss assasin daggers 'cos i dunno whats max dam for assasin weapons, but look at this staff - where's suffix? after all korean coke items and japanese preorder items with great stats they're giving us completely useless weapon - fyi 10/10 recharge/fastcast stat can be found on huge amount on staves now - both green and gold - u just have to check ventari sell - but wheres +30hp/+20%enchants or +1att/20% or any new suffixes?

i was thinking about getting preorder for unique preorder items but i'm not sure i need this junk... mid-game chest drops are better than this staff... and all retailers'll have same preorder items so i cant get anything else (compare to at least 6 coke items and japan preorder items)....

If you look back at Chinese mythology, some of the great warriors wore armor reminiscent of a demon's appearance in order to strike fear in their enemies, so it doesn't seem odd that some of you would say it looks like an alien. Frankly, I like it. But I've always been the time to say form follows function. What does it do for my warrior? Only then will I say whether I will wear it or not.

As far as the daggers go, remember that these aren't green, they can be modified. What W/R wouldn't want a Zealous Axe that lengthened poison duration? +15% when enchanted? Add a +20% Enchantment mod. Hey, Dagger Mastery +1 on 20% of skill usage -- That's just plain bonus. I will be getting these daggers for my eventual Assassin. I remain open to the possibility that I will find a better gold dagger at some point, but I'm not counting on it.

Oh, and one other thing. 7-17 IS max damage on daggers.
